Warning: Do not let children read books

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!

This was the reoccuring expression of exasperation that punctuated my eight year old sister's sentences the other day as she talked to me on the phone, recounting her utter disappointment over the much anticipated "Prince Caspian" movie.

"They got everything wrong!" she lamented, describing to me all the faults of the show, from people being in the wrong place at the wrong time, doing all the wrong things, to Reepicheep not being Reepicheep ("too cute",) to having to "throw in some love thing between Prince Caspian and Susan at the end," to favorite characters all but ignored.

Poor child. She just doesn't understand why people have to change things that are already good.

This conversation, my dear friends, is just another example of how dangerous it is to teach your child to love reading. Not only will it expand their vocabulary to words that might cause you to search for a dictionary. Not only will it make them a social abnormality (being smarter and having a more advanced sense of humor than all the other kids their age,) it will completely destroy all hope of respect for our most loved and worshipped babysitter, teacher, and parent: Visual Media.

I have been bested.

So I have always claimed to have bizarre dreams, and I still think that this is true. But I believe I must tell you, there is a new master dreamer: my husband.
Yes, it is true.
He was telling me this morning that last night he was a super skillful ninja......with a fondness for glazed donuts. At one point in his dream, he was performing amazing feats of ninja agility and cunning while eating donuts. Then, when his foes had been vanquished, he stood back mocking them, a ring of sticky glaze encircling his laughing mouth.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

what a good laugh I had this morning.

Yesterday we signed a contract on a house.
Exciting.
Scary.
Fun.

You know, spending a majority of your savings and commiting to monthly payments is a huge thing. Kind of got cold feet before we signed it...but prayed and felt much better. I got cold feet and freaked out as I walked down the aisle to Sean too (even HUGER decision)...and that ended up being one of the best decisions of my life...so...what I am saying is that I don't give much weight to the temperature of my feet.

Isn't it strange that the more busy you are, the less you feel you have to write about. Maybe it is because I don't have much time to reflect on the hurricane of activity that is my life.....

....now really, it is not that bad.

Last week I started substitute teaching in the town Sean works in. I was fairly terrified going into it (remember, I have never attended any school but college, hence all students know more than I,) but actually, I am really enjoying it. Haven't had to send any kids to the office though...so I am pretty sure a hard day is coming. God has been really gracious so far though.

The Church is seeing some encouraging growth. We had almost fifty people last Sunday (compared to our normal 27) which was really exciting. We are in the middle of an Alpha course and are gearing up for our Launch on Easter Sunday...so if you want something to pray about, that would be a great thing.

I am still hopelessly in love....yep....no getting out of this one :) Every day I find new things to love and praise God for. Sean is an amazing leader, friend, partner,.......ahem....etc.....:) I like him. We are excited about all the things God is calling us into as a couple. We had a pretty amazing prophetic word given to us a couple weekends ago by one of the leaders of new frontiers, John Lanferman. We have been praying about where and when God wants us to go overseas........

John, not really knowing us, walks up to us and tells us that God wants us to be satisfied where we are right now, that He is going to make us fruitful and is going to teach us about each others gifts and how we fit together, that God has not only arranged our marriage, but that He has incredible plans, and that at the right time, God is going to thrust us out into a new fruitful work overseas...

Everything he said was right on target with things we had been praying about. It was especially amazing because we can't find anyone who told him we were interested in going overseas.....anyone but God, that is. What a way to build our faith!

Praise the Lord!
